I Voted!

Today is such an important day in History, and I am glad I could be a part of it. I voted today, and I hope everyone else did as well. Whether McCain or Obama is elected, (even though people all know who I'm rooting for...check my January 2008 posts if you haven't already known who I support :D) Also, in class today Professor Kauer, my Children's Literature teacher showed us a video on YouTube about the famous Women's suffragists, Alice Paul and Lucy Burns. When I woke up this morning I never knew I would find some new role models, but what these women did for our rights is so amazing. They went to prison, were brutally beaten and ridiculed, and even went over 22 days without food just so we could have a chance to vote. I'm proud to say that I'm a woman and I voted, and I encourage those of you who haven't to get out there and do so before the polls close!

Love Always, Amanda

p.s. After we voted my Mom and me made cute Voter-inspired cookies together! It was so fun! Here is a picture of our creations:

Happy Halloween!

I love this Holiday! It is so fun to dress up and go to parties :) This year was a favorite of mine...First, \the movie theater had a special halloween party for all of its employees. We got to eat all kinds of yummy treats and watch a movie after the theater was closed. We ended up watching "Casper"...not my pick for the scariest Halloween thriller but I had fun watching it! I was really happy that they let me invite my best friend, Chris...he doesn't work there but is still part of the Westates family :) My friend Marianne even dressed up as her boyfriend Frank for our work party! It was so hilarious because she ended up looking just like him...

Then on Friday Night we went to "The Howl" a Halloween dance at the Staheli Farm. It was really fun, and Chris dressed up as a Chippendale! Haha it was so funny there was like 10 other guys in the same costume and he got so mad everytime he saw someone else. My friends Jennifer and Sara went a lady bug and butterfly, and I went as Tracy Turnblad from the movie Hairspray. If you haven't seen it, you better because it is my favorite movie!Hope you all had a Happy Halloween!
Love Always,
Amanda

Homecoming Parade...Arrrr you feelin' the Dixie Spirit?

WOW! I wanted to tell you guys about a tradition we have here at Dixie State that is so much fun. Last week was Homecoming Week and there are so many fun activities on campus. My favorite two are Rock the Mall and our DSC Homecoming Parade. I was so sad that I wasn't able to make it to Rock The Mall this year...but I am determined to get a good math grade and they were both at the same time! But I am so, so proud of my fellow Ambassador's who took FIRST PLACE in the competition this year! They sang a pirate-themed version of the school song, which was so hilarious! And in the parade, we decorated our float to look like an old-timey pirate ship and dressed like some serious swash-bucklin' people. This year, there was even a competition and award for best float, and out of sixty one contestants we won too! It was so much fun singing the school song (even though it was so freezing) and these are the moments that I love best about our school. You can really feel the pride for our school at these events, and I'm proud to be a part of it!
Love Always,
Amanda

p.s. Here are some wonderful photos from the parade...hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Freshman No More....

Hello everyone...I am so happy to be back! This year (my sophomore year! I can't believe I survived my first year...just kidding of course!) started off so busy, but things are getting even more fast-paced with our midterms approaching. I just started my first block class, which for those of you who are curious, is a class that is more concentrated and usually happens every day, but starts in October instead of August. It is a math class and I have to tell you, I really love my math teacher, Dr. Banks. She is so hilarious and explains math in the perfect way for me to understand. I even got a B on the first test! I was so proud of my self. Math isn't my strongest subject, but I have a feeling that as long as I apply myself that I can work hard to get a good grade.
I know it's already October and I should have been writing more! But I will give you a good update of my life since we last got to catch up: This summer was lots of fun, I mostly worked at the movie theater, but I did get to go on some fun trips to Cedar City, Provo, Las Vegas and even California. Me and my best friend Chris also had lots of crazy adventures, as usual. I'm still totally obssessed with fashion, and I was super excited this summer when I saved up enough money for my first Juicy Couture handbag. I love it when you work hard to earn something and accomplish your goal! I will, of course, include a picture of my purse so you can see it. But the most important thing about fashion isn't about how exclusive or expensive an item is. It's about what makes you feel good and what reflects your style. I learned that from Tim Gunn, who is the host of Tim Gunn's Guide to Style on the bravo channel. You might also know him from Project Runway, which I am currently obssesed with. I was rooting for Jerrell :( but now I am trying to decide between Kenley and Korto. The finale airs tonight, so don't forget to tune in! That's all for now! Have a chic week :)

Love Always,
Amanda

My Final(s) Blog!

Hello everyone! I am sad to announce that this is the last week of school, and that this will be my final blog! Tomorrow is my final final (haha) and I now have a whole year's experience of being a Dixie Rebel under my belt. I can't believe that next year I will be a Sophomore! It is crazy how fast time goes by. I have had so much fun being able to write this blog and if anyone wants to keep in touch, feel free to e-mail me at dixieamanda@gmail.com I hope everyone has an awesome summer! So far, my plans are just to work, and go on a few vacations! I am very excited to be going to New Orleans, LA sometime in June. My best friend (Chris) is adopted, and he just got in contact with his birth mom and we are going to go meet her for the first time. Hopefully I will get to travel other fun places as well, but I am mostly just excited to have some time off and be able to relax for a few months before it all starts up again :D The chaos, as I like to call it! Good luck, and I hope to see you at Dixie State next year!
Love Always,
Amanda Jacobs

P.S. I will leave you with some gorgeous photos of the Ambassador banquet that took place last week!

Now that I'm not a freshman anymore I won't be getting beaten up anymore :) haha This is Pat, our Ambassador Advisor joking around...at least I hope so :S

Working Girl with a new 'Do...

Hi guys! It sure has been a fun week. First off, I finally got that haircut I've been blabbing about (look up if you want to see!) I really like it. My mom said "It's so Vanity Fair!" She is really funny! I think she meant to say Vogue...ha ha! But, on to today's subject. One of the most important aspects of life is, sadly to say, money. But i'm happy to report that I have lots of fun earning mine! I work at the local movie theater, and i love my job so much. My job is working in the box office, and I am really lucky because I am aloud to do my homework and read magazines in between movie times! It's so much fun. Also, 2 of my close friends, Taylor and Miriam, work at the theater with me. They call us triplet sisters because thats how close we are! Work is never a chore because we always end up working together or coming to visit another one! In the photo above, Taylor (aka Twin) is on the left, and Miriam (aka triplet) is on the right. Our nicknames have to do with our age: I'm the oldest and I'm called Big Sis (19) Taylor (Twin) is the middle girl (17) and Miriam (Triplet) is our baby sis (16)! Here are some more of our hilarious adventures captured on film from work last night:

You might be asking yourself, "Where can I buy this amazing lip gloss? It's so vibrant and wonderful." Well, it's Taylor's Special Dark Chocolate Recipe. Just smear, lick and dab for a shock of dark brown color that is sure to get you noticed.

And that's our finale!

The Great Race

Hello everyone! I am here to fill you in on one of my *new* favorite activities on campus. Well, its not new to everyone (it's been going on since the 70's) but it is new to freshman like me! It's called The Great Race, and it is a blast! Honestly I'm disappointed that they only hold it once a year. I can't believe I'm going to have to wait that long for another one! But, every year during D-Week, a time honored tradition on campus, students compete through different obstacles to be the winner. Some examples are a mud pit, a slip and slide, and even a rollerbladingrace! It looks like a lot of fun to compete, but also very tiring! I'm much better at rooting on people from the sidelines :) but afterwards there is a carnival for the whole community to enjoy. I was babysitting that day, so I took my favorite neighbors along with me to enjoy the fun! My favorite part of the carnival was the balloon animal man! We waited in line over an hour just to meet him. He was so nice! He made me a flower for having to wait so long. Here are some pictures of the race (the mud portion! ha ha) and the carnival:

Such a day...

Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful April. First off, I will start by telling you all about one of my favorite holidays, April Fools Day! As anyone who knows me knows, I am the prankster queen extraordinaire, so you better watch out! I told my brother that I ran out of gas in a town about 20 miles from our house, I pretended to choke on tortilla chips in front of my parents, and I told my best friend that it was all over the news that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's baby had died! Those sound serious, but I promise I would never trick someone in a mean way...But it was really fun to lighten up and have a good laugh. Today, on the other hand, was not as care free!

It was Sterling Scholar Day on campus and the Ambassadors had jobs to help around campus, and me and my buddy Courtney were supposed to sit in front of the fountain and direct the students to their locations and help any judges find their way as well. It was fun catching up with Courtney and relaxing, doing our homework and reading Seventeen magazine but I have to tell you by about 11:00 am I was regretting not wearing sunblock! Its only April, but i guess its still St. George so I should have known better. I was so happy when it was time for lunch! I got to sit with some of my other Ambassador friends and we had fun talking and eating hamburgers. By this time, I was turning a lovely shade of pink, and if you look at the photo below you can just barely see it showing up. It's much worse now, I match the font i'm writing in but it's just my arms! I will never understand how that happened. But after lunch, we laid on the grass and had a photo session. Here is (from left to write, top row and then bottom) Sabrina, Courtney (my table buddy!( Megan, and Me (rockin' our sweet shades haha) and on the bottom is Lindsey and Alissa.

Alissa and I both love fashion, and it was fun talking about what brands we love and some of the cool stuff we had collected. Too bad Quin isn't in this shot, We always joke about how we are models! This isn't my best model pose though... I will have to post one of my pics from my last "session" with my best friend Chris...we love to goof around like that! I am so excited for tomorrow...First, I am cutting my hair into a chic bob, and I am going to dye it dark (dark for summer? I know i'm very original haha) I am headed for LAS VEGAS!!! We are watching my brother and my dad race their ford mustangs at this event called Midnight Madness and on Saturday we are doing my favorite pasttime....SHOPPING! I can't wait to go to Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Vera Wang! I have been saving my moolah for some cute jewelry! I am hoping to find something cute at Chanel since that is my favorite brand and I only have knock-offs so far...But don't worry my darlings...I'll be writing all about it next week!
Much Love,
Manda

Red Sands Weekend!

Hi Everyone!

This weekend was so much fun...it was Ambassador tryouts for next year aka Red Sands Weekend and it is one of my favorite things we do all year long! It is going to be a tough decision since I loved almost everyone who was trying out this year...I was joking with Pat, one of our advisors for the program and I said "Can't we just take everyone and be the new and improved 100 DSC Ambassadors?!" and he said "Yeah! We'll just use all our money on scholarships and party all year!" Haha i guess I didn't think of it that way. But i'm really excited for next year since there were lots of awesome candidates. WE had so much fun at our weekend! I will tell you about our fun day!
First, we met everyone and had a slideshow about what its like to be an Ambassador. Then the students had to partcipate in different challenges, like writing an e-mail about their school, playing a game about ethics and giving a mock tour to potential students. But then it was time for fun! We ate Fazoli's and headed up to the DSC Cabin in Pine Valley. I rode with Jennica, Morgan, Nicole and Ali and we had lots of fun talking about boys (one of my personal favorite subjects!) We actually got a little bit lost but it turned out ok, it ended up being really funny. Then we arrived at the cabin and saw everyone standing on the front porch frowning! Then we came to find out that our advisor got pulled over on the way up to the cabin! It was freezing outside and when he finally came everyone started cheering! It was hilarious. Then we gorged on junk food and played fun games like Werewolf (my favorite) and the Couch Game. Here is a picture of me and Ali, my cute friend who also writes one of these fabulous blogs! Hers is really fun to read, I recommend it! And some more pics of us playing the couch game and me and some of us Ambassadors/our younger tryout buddies being silly!

Basically, it was late at night and I was feeling VERY silly! If you look closely, you can see my new Juicy Couture ring (if you haven't read my blog before...i'm really into fashion! ) Some of the people at the weekend were teasing me because my ring was freakin' huge and my friend Andy even said it looked like I was wearing the world on my finger :D Haha but back to the retreat! I was really excited to be cabin roomates with Julie, Lindsey and Sarah, and we stayed up too late talking! I think we went to bed around 3:30 AM! And we had to get up at 8 am to listen to funny speeches, like "If you met a genie and could have three wishes, what would they be?" It was a lot of fun, but I have to admit the next day I was exausted from all the fun! Until Next Time,
Amanda

Happy (Late) St. Patrick's Day

I know, I know...technically it's not St. Patrick's day anymore. But I still hope you had a good one! This is going to be a very short post since it is past my bedtime ;)

Tonight the SHE Club hosted an off the hook St. Patrick's Day Party at Rebel Creek, and it was so fun just hanging out with the girls, meeting cute new boys and dancing! One of my favorite parts of St. Patty's is busting on the people who didn't wear green...it's so funny when they forget all about it and you get to pinch them! I haven't laughed that hard in FOREVER! One of my good friends from high school, Megan, walked up to me and started poking me at school that morning. I was wearing a necklace that had green in it, and she didn't pinch me, just poked so it was just an odd way of saying hello I guess! Here are some more pics from our crazy good time:

Hope you had a very green day!

Spring Breakdown!

What a day! First off, I am happy to say that spring break has finally arrived and I am loving every minute of it! Well, except for one exception...but i'll get to that momentarily. I will start at the beginning of the story, because I've heard that is always the best place to start...

My best friend Chris and I decided we needed to get out of the house on this lovely evening. You may recognize him from the Madonna Party photos in my January post. But anyway, being the shopaholic that I am, a brilliant idea came to mind. After watching "The Mallpisode" in Season 2 of The OC (our favorite show, only 2nd of course to The Simpsons) we decided to go shopping. We were having fun, despite the fact that there was no good sales. So we decided to leave the mall (after our modeling session in the dressing room at American Eagle, pictured below)
Chris and I lookin' fierce (our new favorite word) and Me and my triplet sisters takin photos of our bad selves

So we skip the car and start driving to Kohls, another favorite store of ours. So we were stopped at the light, singing our favorite song "Tattoo" by Jordin Sparks when all of a sudden, we look over at the guy to our right in a REALLY old chevy car that is rusted with red and blue paint splotches all over it and he is giving us the dirtiest look (like we were the scum of the earth!) I couldn't figure out why, until I looked forward...
A scream escaped my throat, and then, I don't know what happened. Maybe we went crazy. Maybe the smoke was toxic and we inhaled too much. But that's when everything broke loose: Chris and I just started laughing and couldn't stop. There was smoke everywhere! And you know its gotta be bad when a crazy guy with a rusted chevy is giving YOU the dirty looks. So we pulled over, and lucky me, I have a mechanic for a daddy so I just called him and he took care of everything. I'm sure if I was the one paying the mechanic bill I wouldn't have been laughing! Until next time,
Amanda :)

SHE Club Bonfire

Tonight was such a blast! Us S.H.E. club members hosted a bonfire social for us and The X Club. It was so much fun catching up with the girls, making hot dogs and S'mores and just being carefree.
My friend Emily kept having disastrous results trying to make S'Mores, she ended up lighting a grand total of 6 marshmallows on fire! It was hard to keep a straight face about it :D It was so fun meeting all the guys in The X Club, they are a REALLY funny and goofy bunch! Honestly, I'm so gladwe get to do stuff like this. It was a nice stress release too since this week is Midterms! I swear, this week and finals week are the busiest of the year. But at least next week (March 8-17) is SPRING BREAK! I'm so excited to just have fun around town with friends and hopefully there will be some good sales because I got my taxes back ($cha-ching!) I am such a shopaholic, we shouldn't even go there cause we will be there ALL DAY! I was hoping to go out of town with a friend to Provo but it might not work out, but that's what the summer is for right? Speaking of summer, I found out today that after Spring Break there is only 5 weeks of classes left! Woohoo! I'll have another post for you later this week to make up for the lack of one last week...I was sick, again! Until Next Time!!

Happy Birthday to Me!

I am officially 19 years old and excited that the day finally came! I will give you a quick rundown of my birthday celebration since I have to work in a few minutes. Ok, on Thursday (2/21) the day before my actual birthday, after I came home from school my mom had a surprise for me and she made me stay in the living room FOREVER and I couldn't figure out what the heck was going on! So finally she revealed her surprise to me:

She redecorated my room as a surprise for me! She is the best mom ever, and i was shocked! i love my new glam pink room :) Later that day, we had family and my best friend Chris (who is like family) over to unwrap gifts and have a mini-party. Here is a sneak peek at some of my presents:

Top from left: Juicy Couture Clutch, Marc Jacobs Star Watch Necklace, and Marilyn Monroe Artwork. I was so happy and grateful that my friends and family care so much about me! It was a fun day. And on Friday, my actual birthday (2/22) I had a midtern (yuck!) but it wasn't actually too hard. Afterwards, my Mom and I headed to Mesquite, NV for a girls night of beauty and shopping! It was so fun, and we even got to eat a fancy restaurant (I had filet mignon and creme brulee...mmm!) I felt so special! It was a great birthday. Well, I'm off to work! Until next time...

My Celebrity Crush/Love of Comedy

I got to thinking today and I decided every girl needs a celebrity crush so I'm going to tell you all about mine! His name is Andy Samberg and he is a comedian who is on Saturday Night Live (one of my favorite shows, by the way) I'm obsessed with watching his SNL Digital Shorts. Seriously, if you are having a bad day and are in need of a good laugh fest you need to see this. Andy has brought new life back into the show and some people even say he is the new Adam Sandler (also hilarious!). If you haven't seen them, log your butt onto www.NBC.com/Saturday_Night_Live and look them up under videos. He was also in the movie Hot Rod if you want to check that out as well, but I like the digital shorts better!
<----Andy Samberg is so cute...but my 2nd place celebrity crush would have to be James Marsden!
Comedy has such a special place in my heart since I grew up loving to make people laugh and I was always studying actors and their timing. I love comedy so much, a lot of people don't know this about me but it was actually a dream of mine to become a comedian! Who knows, maybe someday I'll give it a shot ;) But for now, I'm getting my education so people don't laugh at me instead of with me haha! I even once had to give a "How-To" report at school and I did mine on "How To Make People Laugh" Bet you can't guess what I got...that's right, an F. Not really, I got an A+! Anyway, I'm off to work on homework since Midterms are coming up :S Wish me luck!
Until Next Time,
Amanda

Adventures In Babysitting

Today was a really fun day to start off the weekend! First off, I was so excited to see the weather is finally warming up since I live for our warm days in St. George :) and finally, THE SUN came out from all the gray and it was the perfect day to play! Lucky for me, I was babysitting for my across the street neighbors, The Jones family, and they always show me a good time! We decided to have a marathon of Spongebob Squarepants and The Simpsons (which are hilarious no matter how old you are!!) and then we decided to go to the park nearby our houses and it was so much fun. We took their ADORABLE dog Cookie along so she could have a walk, and we had swinging contests, played on the jungle gym and even made new friends! It made me realize just how special little kids are to me...I love playing with them since I'm a big kid at heart :D I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and here are some pictures of our fun day for you to enjoy!

February has arrived!

I decided to write in purple today to match the birthstone Amethyst, which is the birthstone for the the month of February! I'm not just a weirdo for knowing that...my birthday is this month! I will be 19 on 2/22/2008, the same birthday as George Washington (formerly...he no longer celebrates. RIP honesty about the cherry tree president) Drew Barrymore (which, ironically enough, has been my favorite actress since I was 10) and Rachel Dratch (of SNL fame...ever heard of Debbie Downer? Haha!) I am excited but to be honest life is flying by! I feel like I just started Kindergarten, not college. I know its still about 3 weeks away but I get so excited about these things. But after I've been posting these past weeks I have forgotten to update you on certain activities and how they went:
  • AMBASSADOR RETREAT(1/11) was one of the funnest nights ever...but thinking about it makes me tired! We stayed up playing games (like Werewolf, which is so addicting. I was going to stop after 2 games but played 5) and listening to the guys playing guitar. My friend Doug has an amazing voice! Guess who is crazy and forgot her camera...AGAIN! I'm not used to having one but I'll bum pics from someone, I promise!

  • REBEL RETREAT(1/25) was a smashing success. We had a great turnout. Kids from all over UT and the US came to check out DSC. It was so fun! We went to Entertainment Dixie and saw this hilarious improv comedy group called "Mission Improvable" and we also had a bonfire party afterwards. One of our advisors, Pat, left his car running to do something for a minute and was standing talking to someone and noticed a car rolling away. "What an idiot!" He yelled, not realizing it was his own car! It was hilarious, but paying the repair bill won't be...

There is always lots of fun things going on at Dixie. Tonight is the SHE club sleepover and we are also going to the Mr. Dixie pageant, which I have been looking forward to for months. I will update you every last juicy detail, as always, next Friday!

Love Always,

Amanda

p.s. Here is an Update: The Mr. Dixie Pageant was so fun! One kid wanted the title so badly he ate live worms and goldfish...for me, no crown (no matter how diamond encrusted) would be worth it! Congrats to Kadin Allen for taking the crown (Fortunately for him he just played the piano instead eating creepy crawly things)

Being Sick = No Fun!

I'm writing in blue today to match my mood--I've been sick for almost 2 weeks now and its getting old! You know how sometimes when your sick for a day or two its kind of fun getting attention and resting up, watching your favorite shows and relaxing? Well if your sick for more than that sadly life goes on and I have been trying to just go about normal life as much as possible. But I have two exciting bits of news so here we go:

1) I am so excited to inform you of my status as a new member of Dixie State College's S.H.E. Club! SHE stands for Sophisticated, Heroic and Elegant and its our mission to be a sisterhood of girls out to make the world a better place. Look out for us pink ladies on campus--we're ready to shine! All the girls seem SO nice and next weekend we are even having a slumber party with an initiation. I can't wait!

2)Being sick this past few weeks, on my resting time I have had a lot of hours to think about (dum da da dum...) THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION and what it means to me. Being a woman, I know how lucky we are to even have the chance to vote, since that wasn't always the case. I want to empower everyone to get out there and make a difference (every vote counts!) and remember its our right, and most importantly a privlege. I also wanted to give a shout out to the man I'm supporting
BARACK OBAMA! Not only is he ready to make the world a better place, he actually cares about people and is engaging. I'm excited to lend my support to him. I also wanted to share this thought with everyone:
This election year, don't go with a persons gender, skin color or religious affiliation for your vote. This shouldn't matter when choosing a leader for our country. I've always been an advocate for women in office, but I'm not voting for Hilary just because she is a girl. Same with Mitt Romney, I'm not voting for him just because he has morals like mine. I'm choosing the best person for the job, and I encourage all of you to read up on the issues and choose your favorite candidate. I love you all and have a fab weekend!
Love Always,
Amanda

New Years Resolutions!

I know it has already been the new year for 18 whole days, but I wanted to take the opportunity to share my resolution. I'm known notoriously amongst friends for being 5 minutes late everywhere I go, and I want to change my punctuality image! I started this week on Monday, and I've only been late to 2 classes. That still sounds like a lot, right? Not if you knew me before! I was constantly late for class, work or even social obligations! I know, I know...bad girl! But I am trying to work on it and thats what counts. I think any steps a person takes to be a better person is a sign of character, and everyone should try to better themselves. And since I forgot to tell you last week...

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope all your dreams come true. Now i'm off to study for my interior design quiz (which is THE funnest class by the way--if you ever get the chance to take it, its worth your buck. We took a field trip to Boulevard Home Furnishing to see if we could spot historical techniques in current furniture and we basically had to mad dash around the store and find it all, and we even got to pick our favorite thing to list on the assignment sheet. My favorite, of course, wasn't a piece of furniture! It was a painting of Marilyn Monroe, my idol! She is so glamorous...she also taught me my most important lesson: Diamonds are a girls best friend! Haha...I'm just joking. But everyone should watch that movie if they get the chance! I LOVE old movies...that one is called "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" I'll list some of my favorites at the bottom. Bye everyone!

Love Always,

Amanda, DSC's biggest fan

Marilyn in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes"
My Top 5 Classic Movies:
5. Breakfast at Tiffany's
4. Some Like It Hot
3. Shirley Temple Movies (I can't choose just one!) Curly Top, Dimples, The Little Princess...

Its Good to Be Back!

Hi Everyone! It feels so good to be back and writing once again... It was a long Christmas break but honestly it didn't feel long enough! Let me travel back in time and update you on previous events.

December 10-14 was finals week. I was super nervous for my first time ever, but it all worked out superb! I must have done really well because I was sitting at B's in two of my classes and they got bumped up to A-'s! And, best of all, I passed my Math class! I was in danger of getting a "D" because of my test scores becuase I really struggle in Math, it is definitely my hardest subject. But I studied really hard for the last test and the final and I must have done well because I got that wonderful "C" needed to move on to the next math class.

DID YOU KNOW...that goofiness reduces stress during finals week? Hahaha

December 15-January 7 was our Christmas Break. I got to visit with lots of family that came to see me, and I also got to catch up with friends, and I was really excited to see my best friend Chris. Since he works nights and I go to school full time our schedules don't match up sometimes, so it was nice to hang out with him! We even had a Madonna party. We have these custom made Madonna shirts, so we wore them and watched some of her classic movies "Desperately Seeking Susan" and "Who's That Girl?" It was so fun.

Here is me and Chris getting our "Vogue" on and showing off our custom made shirts at our Madonna Party

Christmas was especially fun--I got 3 seperate visits from my Grandma, then my Aunt Terri, Uncle Joe, and my CUTEST little cousin Tyler, and from my cousin Jennifer and her adorable babies Sophia and William. I love Sophie to pieces! I might be biased, but I think she is so adorable...same with William. He has the cutest smile. They only live in Cedar City so I get to see them more often than my other relatives, who much of which live in California. I had to work over the Holidays because the Movie Theater is open 365 days a year, but we got to have snacks and it was a relaxed atmosphere! I also chopped off about 5 inches of my hair :S but I ended up loving it.

January 7-January 11 was BACK TO SCHOOL! I'm so happy with my schedule and all my professors this semester. Everyone seems so funny and kind. There are lots of friends in my classes too so I know this will be an exciting close to my first year of college. Thats all for now...tonight all the Ambassadors are heading up to the Dixie State College Cabin in Pine Valley, UT for a little rest and relaxation. I'm so excited! Stay tuned at the bottom for pics of the ugly sweater party!

Love Always,

Amanda
