Christmas Time...Crunch Time

This has just been one of those kind of weeks! So much homework, so many papers, so many deadlines! Stress is mounting around the campus as finals approach. I'm starting to get nervous for my very first batch of finals but I've been taking tests all semester--I just have to study and pretend like this is no biggie. I can't believe today was the last day of classes! It feels like I just started, honestly it is the weirdest feeling. I can't believe I already have a whole semester under my belt. I feel so proud to be able to say I'm a successful college student at Dixie State, and I feel like I have learned so much in the past four months. Enough about the boring land of tests and studying since I'll be doing a lot of that over the weekend! Besides getting ready for all the grandious stuff, this week was an adventure! On Wednesday night we had our Ambassador Christmas Party, and it was an UGLY SWEATER PARTY! I had so much fun...we had a White Elephant gift exchange with some of the weirdest gifts I've ever seen! I know you won't be jealous when you here some of the stuff that was in it...A jar of pickles with only the juice and one lonely pickle in it, lots of lingerie, a Lizzie McGuire board game, a "Studs & Spurs" hunk calendar, a rubber chicken...hahaha it was pretty funny. Next week I will post some pictures of that night once my film gets developed. You won't believe your eyes when you see how weird my costume looks ;) I go all out for these shindigs baby. Till Next Week!
Love Always,
Amanda
p.s. Here are some pictures from the earlier this year: the one of the top is me and the ones at the bottom are of me and my date at the Homecoming dance, and some from our Ambassador parties.

Hello there! Let me introduce myself...

Hi Everyone!
My name is Amanda Jacobs and I am freshman at Dixie State College. I'm so excited to be writing this blog! Trust me, its going to be your new weekly must read :) First off, I'd like to start out by telling you a little about myself. I'm 18 and I'm from St. George. I still live at home with dear old Mom and Dad because i'm really close with my fam plus I have to admit I'm a little bit chicken to move out yet! This is my first semester at Dixie State, and so far i'm loving it--even though the test could be a little bit easier :D haha I wish! Some of my hobbies include hanging out with friends, reading and writing (I'm hoping to be an English major) making people laugh (i'm a huge lover of comedy) and I'm a total girly girl! I love make-up, fashion, hair, jewelry, and of course, SHOPPING! One of my other favorite things is school, and no, I'm not joking. I love experiencing new adventures and learning new things. Dixie State is the perfect place to do that--there is always something going on. I've had so much fun in my classes so far, especially my Intro to Music 1010 class. If you ever get the chance to take it, sign up! Dr. Allred is the most amazing professer ever, not only is she funny but she's also super nice. This week I've had a lot going on in my life, and not only did she help me make up what I missed in class she also made me feel better about my stress outside of school. She is the best :) I'm excited for the new semester to start in January though because I am ready for a change. Christmas break is only 2 weeks away...after the dreaded finals! I'm gonna study my heart out. Well thats all for now...stay tuned for next week!
Love Always,
Amanda
